ساحة الساعة في الديوانية غيرت اسمها ولونها مرات عدة

عندما تقف على الجسر المعلق القريب من ساحة الساعة وسط الديوانية ستشاهد نصبا على شكل زهرة كبيرة في قلبها ساعة مدورة تطوقها مساحة خضراء، انها ساحة الساعة ايقونة الاحتجاجات في الديوانية.
منذ أكثر من شهرين يتجمع الآلاف الناس حول ذلك النصب وهم يحملون الأعلام العراقية و قد نصبوا في محيط المكان عدد من الخيام وأقاموا موائد الطعام، فيما تطوق عناصر الأمن الساحة من كل جانب وقد وضع في مدخل الشوارع الأربعة المؤدية إليها عدد من سيارات الشرطة.

لم تكن هذه المرة الأولى التي يتجمع فيها أبناء الديوانية في ساحة الساعة للاحتجاج ،ففي السنوات السابقة كان ملتقى الفلاحين والعمال ووجهاء المحافظة عندما يعتزمون الذهاب إلى مكان محدد.

قرب النهر تقع الساحة المذكورة وسط مدينة الديوانية أمام مبنى ديوان المحافظة ومجلسها، وعلى مسافة يسيرة تنتشر عدد من الدوائر الحكومية والمبان التجارية التي لا يستطيع الناس رؤيتها من مكان بعيد.

يقول الخبير التأريخي مؤسس مركز الذاكرة الموسوعية غالب الكعبي
حول تاريخية المكان ان المنطقة كانت زراعية تغطيها البساتين قبل انشاء الساحة ولا يوجد فيها سوى منزلين احدهما يعود لمتصرف لواء الديوانية والثاني لمدير محطة القطار.

مشروع بناء النصب هو احد من المشاريع التي وردت في المذكرة الإيضاحية التي كتبها متصرف لواء الديوانية آنذاك خليل إبراهيم الذي بين أن تمويل المشروع من ميزانية الإدارة المحلية بكلفة ( 7350) دينار عراقي آنذاك وهذا المبلغ لا يكفي اليوم لوجبة غداء بسيطة، إذ افتتح المشروع في حينه عبد اللطيف الدراجي وزير الداخلية في عهد الرئيس العراقي الأسبق عبد السلام محمد عارف.
بدأت الجهود العمالية تنفذ العمل عام 1965 وأكملت أعمالها عام 1966باشراف مدير البلدية آنذاك حامد عبود شنين.
يتكون نصب الساعة المشيد بارتفاع 13،5م من أربعة أضلاع ويوجد على جانبي النصب مدرجين صغيرين وساحة دائرية فيها زهور صغيرة تحيط به من جميع الاتجاهات.
مصمما النصب رؤوف الحسيني وطه الاسدي استوحيا تصميم النصب من شكل الزهرة التي تتكون من أربعة أوراق تتوسطها ثمرة وهو رمز يتناسب مع لقب محافظة الديوانية التي يطلق عليها “زهرة الفرات الأوسط”.
اللون الرمادي هو السائد عند تشييد النصب ثم تدرجت الألوان إلى أن أصبح اللون الأخضر هو الدائم إشارة إلى أن الديوانية مدينة زراعية.
عندما شيد النصب كانت تتوسطه ساعة فرنجية كبيرة الحجم ذات سلاسل متينة لها أربعة أركان يقوم بتشغيلها عامل مختص يضبط فيها الوقت في بداية كل شهر، لقد كان صوتها واضح جدا إذ يسمعه أهالي المحافظة من مسافات بعيدة.
ولكن بمرور الزمن استبدلت الساعة الكبيرة ذات الصوت الرنان بساعة صغيرة كثيرة العطل لا تتناسب مع حجم النصب، ولم يعد أهالي الديوانية يسمعون دقات الساعة الفرنجية التي اختفت أو ربما تم التخلص منها.
بعد الانتهاء من أعمال أنشاء النصب أطلقت مديرية البلدية اسم عبد السلام محمد عارف الرئيس العراقي الذي توفي في تحطم طائرة عام 1966 على النصب، و بعد إنشاء الجسر المعلق سميت بساحة الجسر المعلق ثم أطلق عليها ساحة زهرة الفرات وبعدها ساحة الفراتين ثم ساحة الساعة. المظاهرات الأخيرة التي شهدتها الديوانية والتي تمسك فيها المحتجون بساحة الساعة كإيقونة لتلك الاحتجاجات شهدت سقوط اكثر من (22) ضحية من الشباب المحتجين لذا اطلق عليها المتظاهرون تسمية “ساحة الشهداء” وعلقوا صور الضحايا حول النصب.
نصب الساعة هو الأول من نوعه على مستوى العراق والديوانية باعتباره نصباً سياحياً له عمق تأريخي ودلالات متعددة أبرزها موقعها الجغرافي كزهرة الفرات الأوسط في العراق وموقعها المحلي وسط الديوانية ودورها في تنظيم حركة السير وهي أيضا مركزاً محورياً لتجمع الناس منذ عشرات السنين.

ورغم اختلاف التسميات والدلالات إلا أن المتظاهرين في الديوانية لهم رأياً مغايراً فهم يعتبرون الساعة موعداً للتجمهر والانطلاق نحو المطالبة بالحقوق والانتفاض على الفاسدين حتى باتت احدى ايقونات الاحتجاج في العراق.
