البصرة تستعين بـ (المانغروف) لتنظيف بيئتها الملوثة

“على مدى البصر كانت تمتد غابات النخيل.. أيام طفولتي كنا نلهو هنا قبل ان تتحول الى أراض جرداء.. كل شيء تغير اليوم بعد الحروب وما خلفه من تلوث بيئي وتركه من اهمال للزراعة” يقول الستيني ابو احمد وهو يمسح جبينه بينما هَم بإيقاف زورقه على ضفة النهر.

البصرة أكبر مدن جنوبي العراق كانت بوابة لحروب متلاحقة خاضتها البلاد خلال العقود الأربعة المنصرمة، وتحولت إلى ساحة لمخلفاتها المدمرة، فيما تتزاحم في سمائها السحب الدخانية التي تخلقها المنشآت النفطية حيث ينتشر 15 حقلاً نفطياً تنتج بمجموعها نحو 60% من النفط الخام في العراق.

وسط مصادر التلوث المختلفة والعجز الحكومي في اطلاق مشاريع زراعية واعدة تحيي غابات النخيل التي كان يقدر عدد أشجارها بنحو سبعة ملايين نخلة سنة 1979 قبل ن يتناقص العدد الى نحو ثلاثة ملايين، يحاول فريق علمي محاربة التلوث بوسائل جديدة أملا في اعادة جزء من ما خسرته المدينة من ثروتها الزراعية وجمالها وصفاء مياهها.

المانغروف هل يكون حلا ؟

سلاح الفريق الجديد يكمن في شجرة المانغروف التي تتشابك جذورها وتمتد متفرعةً في كل الاتجاهات فتتشبث بالتربة لمنع انجرفها أو تغوصُ في المياه المالحة مشكلةً طوق نجاةٍ للحياة البيئية.

يذكر الفريق العلمي المشرف على زراعة تلك الشجرة، انهم ومنذ أكثر من عام يعملون على زراعة وإكثار المانغروف وان النتائج الأولية واعدة، بعد فشل معظم محاولات المؤسسات الحكومية والمدنية في السنوات الماضية لمكافحة التلوث البيئي ومنع تآكل التربة اللذين أثرا على مجمل نواحي الحياة في البصرة.

يروج الدكتور أيمن عبد اللطيف، صاحب فكرة الاستعانة بالمانغروف مع فريقه العلمي للمشروع الذي يتركز على زراعة وتكثير هذا الصنف من الأشجار بعد نجاح زراعتها وثبوت كفاءتها في دول الخليج وإيران.

يقول عبد اللطيف، انهم يعولون عليها كثيراً فهي اشجار استوائية تزدهر في ظروف لا يمكن أن تتحملها معظم الاشجار الأخرى ” كنموها في مياه شديدة الملوحة مع قدرتها الفائقة على تخزين كميات هائلة من الكربون وهي تعمل كمصدات للتيارات البحرية والعواصف”.

عبد اللطيف الذي يشغل وظيفة رئيس قسم الرسوبيات والقيعان البحرية في مركز علوم البحار بجامعة البصرة، عمل لسنوات على مشروعه الذي يعد الاول من نوعه في العراق ويأمل في النهاية زراعة المانغروف على كامل الشواطئ الساحلية للبصرة لمواجهة التلوث والتآكل.

شجرة تناسب بيئة المنطقة

يشرح ميزات الشجرة التي يعملون على اكثارها:”هذا الصنف ينمو في المياه المالحة والأراضي الاستوائية الرطبة ويتحمل درجات الحرارة المرتفعة والملوحة ذات الكثافة العالية وهذه الميزة لا تتوفر في أي نوع آخر من الأشجار بحسب علمي وهي مناسبة جدا لبيئتنا الساحلية”.

ولهذه الشجرة مزايا أخرى عديدة، فجذورها تشكل حواضن مناسبة لنمو الروبيان والأسماك الصغيرة والهائمات الحيوانية والقشريات البحرية وتعد أغصانها ملجئاً للطيور والحيوانات البرية وخشبها ذو قيمة اقتصادية.

وتسهم الشجرة في عملية مقاومة التغيير المناخي كونها تمتلك قدرة على امتصاص غاز ثاني أوكسيد الكاربون بشكل كبير جداً وهو ما يساعد على خفض تأثير ظاهرة الاحتباس الحراري كما أنها من الاشجار التي تمنح منظراً جميلا في المناطق التي تنمو فيها مما تتعزز فرص الاستثمار السياحي مستقبلاً.

ويضيف عبد اللطيف إلى كل ذلك:”زراعة هذه الاشجار سيعمل على حماية الضفاف والمناطق الساحلية التي تتعرض لتيارات المد والجزر ومنع انجراف التربة ولاسيما في مناطق رأس البيشة وخور عبد الله جنوبي محافظة البصرة وهذا هو الأهم بالنسبة إلينا خلال الفترة القريبة المقبلة”.

مواجهة الانجراف المستمر

وتظهر مشكلة انجراف التربة بشكلها الواضح على قناة شط العرب إذ يخسر العراق نحو مئة دونم سنويا من أراضيه الوطنية لصالح إيران من خلال تقدم خط التالوك، الذي يقسم النهر عند منتصفه بين البلدين باتجاه المياه الإقليمية العراقية بشكل مستمر مما يثير مخاوف المختصين من تداعيات هذه المشكلة مستقبلا.

عمل عبد اللطيف مع فريقه الذي قوامه باحثون من مركزي علوم البحار وإنعاش الأهوار والشركة العامة للموانئ ودائرة الزراعة على ادخال هذا النوع من الاشجار كبذور تم استيرادها عام 2017 من إيران وعُمان، لتتم تجربة زراعته في مختبرات جامعة البصرة بهدف ضمان ملاءمة نمو النبتة في بيئتها الجديدة.

وتحدث عن واحدة من التجارب:”زرعنا(80 ) شتلة منها في سواحل ميناء خور عبد الله العام الفائت وهي تنمو بشكل جيد. وقد ثبت نجاح التجربة برغم ظروف العمل الصعبة التي واجهتنا في حينها. لكننا حاولنا تذليل الصعاب بالاستفادة من خبرة دول الخليج التي سبقتنا في هذا المجال”.

أكثر المحافظات تلوثاً

بحسب الناشط البيئي فرات حسن، فأن محافظة البصرة من أكثر محافظات العراق تعرضا للتلوث وهو يشمل جميع الجوانب البيئية والحياتية فيها بسبب مخلفات الحروب وحقول النفط والاهمال.

ويوضح: ” تعاظم التلوث في العقود الأخيرة، خصوصاً بعد الحروب التي كانت البصرة مسرحا لها وما نجم عنها من حرائق وتدمير للمنشآت النفطية والصناعية وإحداث الأسلحة الخطرة التي استخدمت بؤرا ملوثة بالإشعاع”.

ويضيف إلى ذلك تجريف بساتين النخيل وتغيير جنس أراضيها إلى سكنية وغياب الاغطية النباتية بفعل التصحر وتمركز الصناعات النفطية فيها، واستخدام الانهر كمجارٍ للصرف الصحي والمياه الثقيلة، الى جانب مياه البزل الايرانية المتدفقة من منطقة الاحواز، فضلا عن ارتفاع اللسان الملحي من البحر.

وشهدت البصرة محاولات حكومية ومدنية على حدٍ سواء لمواجهة مشكلة التلوث البيئي عبر خطط لمشاريع زراعية لاقامة غطاء نباتي يسهم في معالجة المشكلة، غير أنها بقيت حبراً على ورق الانتظار كما هو الحال مع مشروع زراعة مليون نخلة الذي سبق وأن أعلنه وزير النفط الأسبق جبار اللعيبي ولم ير النور بعد تغيير التشكيلة الحكومية عام 2018.

كما لم يكتب النجاح لمشروع آخر بسبب نقص التمويل وكان يهدف أيضاً لزراعة مليون شجرة بواسطة المدارس والمؤسسات الحكومية وهو مشروع كانت قد بادرت إليه مجموعة من المنظمات المدنية.

تحذيرات دون جدوى

وفي وقت سابق حذر مكتب المفوضية العليا لحقوق الإنسان في البصرة من تداعيات تفاقم التلوث البيئي في المحافظة وأكد عزمه على تحريك دعاوى قضائية ضد المؤسسات المسببة للتلوث.

يقول مدير المكتب مهدي التميمي ان للانبعاثات الغازية السامة من الحقول النفطية تأثيرات مباشرة على الإنسان والكائنات الحية الأخرى على حد سواء.

ويحمل التميمي تلك الانبعاثات مسؤولية إصابة المواطنين بأمراض خطيرة كالأورام السرطانية التي قال بأنها تسجل ارتفاعاً كبيراً رغم ان مسؤولين يتحدثون انها ضمن المعدلات الطبيعية العالمية وان أقروا بأن نسب التلوث في البصرة عالية.

وسجلت مستشفيات البصرة في النصف الثاني من 2019 ما يقرب من مئة ألف حالة تسمم ومغص معوي حاد بسبب تلوث المياه والتربة، وضعت ملف “تلوث مياه البصرة” وعدم صلاحية استخدامها على رأس طاولة أولويات الحكومة العراقية.

وأدت حالات التسمم تلك الى حصول اضطرابات وتظاهرات وتحركات شعبية وسياسية لايجاد حلول سريعة مؤقتة واخرى دائمة بعيدة المدى. ويعتبر نشطاء انها أدت الى تغيير مسار تشكيل الحكومة في حينها.

ألغام وفشل مشاريع سمكية

يصف الطبيب جبر عناد، التلوث الذي يعاني منه شط العرب والأنهر المتفرعة بالخطير جداً. لكنه ينبه الى ان الصناعة النفطية ليست المتهم الوحيد فالأراضي في كثير من مناطق البصرة ملوثة بآلاف الألغام مع وجود مخلفات عسكرية ملوثة إشعاعياً جراء قصف المنطقة خلال حرب الخليج الثانية 1991.

وعلى الرغم مما تتمتع به البصرة والتي يقدر عدد سكانها بنحو أربعة ملايين نسمة، من وفرة في عدد الأنهر الداخلية والمسطحات المائية (الأهوار) التي عرفت واشتهرت بها، اضافة إلى اطلالتها الساحلية على الخليج العربي، فأن اسواقها تعتمد بشكل كبير على استيراد الاسماك من المحافظات الاخرى أو دول الجوار لسد حاجة المستهلكين.

ويلفت نقيب المهندسين الزراعيين السابق علاء البدران، إلى أن مشاريع تربية الاسماك النهرية لم يكتب لها النجاح لعوامل تتعلق بارتفاع ملوحة المياه الذي شهدته البصرة في المواسم السابقة إلى جانب ارتفاع درجات الحرارة التي قضت على هذه المشاريع تماماً.

ويوضح البدران ان الأسماك البحرية “لا تغطي حاجة السوق المحلية إذ تصل بكميات محدودة وقسم منها يجري بيعه من قبل الصيادين في مياه الخليج ولا يصل الى أسواق البصرة”.

وتربط دراسة أعدها الدكتور عبد مخور نجم الريحاني، علاقة الخليج العربي بتلوث مياه شط العرب بمختلف المواد وخاصة النفط ومنتجاته بسبب حالات المد، الى درجة أن مياه شط العرب التي كانت عذبة قبل عقود اصبحت غير صالحة للشرب. وأدى الى ندرة  الاسماك الكبيرة في مياهه وكذلك اختفاء بعض الأنواع التي كانت توجد بوفرة كالصبور والزبيدي.

ويوصي الريحاني لمواجهة التلوث في البصرة، بالعمل سريعا على وقف التخلص من النفايات عبر الحرق واللجوء الى الطمر، وانجاز مشاريع المجاري لمعالجة مياهها، ومكافحة تلوث المياه في نهري دجلة والفرات اللذين يصبان في شط العرب لأن ما تجلبه مياههما من مواد ملوثة تشكل نسبة لا يستهان بها من المواد الملوثة.

ويدعو الى التنسيق مع اليونسكو لحماية مياه شط العرب من التلوث لأن الجانب الايراني لا يمكن اغفاله في تلوث المياه بما يجلبه نهر الكارون من ملوثات الى جانب نفايات ومجاري المدن الايرانية المطلة على شط العرب.

يضع عبد اللطيف وفريقه العلمي كل مصادر التلوث وما خلقته من مشاكل نصب أعينهم، لكنهم يتطلعون إلى تحقيق نصر في مواجهة التلوث من خلال إنبات وتكثير المزيد  من اشجار المانغروف لتحصين السواحل البصرية جميعها ضد التيارات المائية.

هم يأملون النجاح في خطواتهم الاولى على طريق طويل لإحياء شواطئ البصرة، بإنشاء غابات كثيفة من المانغروف وجعلها حاجزاً أول منيع ضد تلوث المياه، ورئة واسعة لتنقية الهواء من الانبعاثات الغازية، لكنه يشترط توفر دعمٍ حكومي يحول المشروع إلى برنامج وطني ينسحب أثره على البلاد بأسرها وليس البصرة فقط.
